Beck & Beck

Bill Turley has been practicing Missouri auto accident and insurance coverage law for over 50 years. For the first 20+ years, he primarily represented injured people. He was elected by his peers to serve as both President of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys (MATA) and Governor of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (now called the “American Association for Justice). Those organizations work to help injured accident victims on the state and national level respectively.

For the next 20+ years, he was employed by the Shelter Insurance Company as its Senior Legal Counsel to assist in the supervision of its lawsuits and work on the revisions to its insurance policies. In the meantime, he wrote a book (Trial Handbook for Missouri Lawyers), several articles for legal publications (e.g. Personal Automobile Policy; Bodily Injury Liability and Property Damage Liability Coverages published by the Missouri Bar Association and read by lawyers throughout Missouri), and served as an adjunct professor at the University of Missouri School of Law where he taught insurance law and practice.

So, as Bill likes to say, he really has “looked at law from both sides now” and has both tried, and supervised, cases for “both sides”. Those cases ranged in size from a few thousand dollars to many millions. He now works as an independent consultant with lawyers throughout the state of Missouri. At Beck and Beck, we believe Bill is one of the best sources of advice about the most effective way to handle injury claims; and, as a result, we consult with him whenever we believe he can add value to our clients’ cases.
